Deborah’s Chocolate Craving 3 Ingredient Snack
Halloween is just around the corner and you feel “entitled” to eating more chocolate than usual. This 3 ingredient chocolate wonder is perfect for when you are craving chocolate but don’t want a lot of calories. Taste specific satiety studies show that the first 3 to 6 bites taste the best and the remaining bites we are just trying to re-capture that great taste of the first few bites.
I want to thank Taste Life subscriber Deborah Taylor for sharing her quick tasty, just enough of chocolate snack heaven.
Directions:
- In a glass custard cup, place 1 heaping tablespoon of peanut butter with 10 or so chocolate chips (use the good brands like Ghirardelli or for dairy and gluten free Enjoy Life).
- Melt in the microwave for about 30 seconds. Stir the chips and peanut butter together.
- Stir in 1 to 3 tablespoons raw oats (can use gluten free oats if needed).
- Sit down and serve with a little coffee spoon and savor every bite. A bonus is the protein rich peanut butter will stabilize your blood sugar when eaten as a before bed time snack. Doesn’t everyone crave chocolate before they go to bed? We do in this house!
