How does knowing your values increase your happiness and help you make decisions?

Knowing my values allows me to map out goals and live a life that is deeply meaningful and fulfilling.

Family:

I was blessed to be raised by wonderful, kind and loving parents who allowed me to shine and reach for the stars. As soon as my husband and I had our children, I realized that my family was/is everything. Raising our sons to be decent, kind and successful young men has been my top priority. I love my career and feel blessed to be able to enjoy being a wife, mother, daughter and successful entrepreneur. But all of my professional success would not be as special if I did not have the love and support of my family. Knowing that this is one of my five values was not surprising. But, it did and continues to help me make decisions about projects and professional activities without giving up quality time with my family. My sons, husband and my Dad are my guiding force.

Health:

I have always been health conscious. I enjoy delicious vegetarian food without deprivation and prioritize joyful movement. As I have gotten older, I am more conscious of prioritizing self-care. I enjoy daily walks, affirmations, podcasts and visits to our local temple which all help nourish my mind, body and spirit.

Travel:

I love to travel and especially enjoy learning about different cultures and cuisines. As a family we have traveled since our children were very young and exposed them to a global perspective. As a professional, I absolutely love visiting farms, attending conferences and learning from a variety of hands-on experiences.

Wealth:

Having a financially successful career allows me the opportunity of helping more people and doing more of the things that I want to do, supporting more of the causes that I believe in.

Impact:

I feel a deep desire to leave an impact. I want/need to make a positive difference in the world. Whether it is through my day to day interactions with anyone I come in contact with, communicating my nutrition messages through the media, or publishing my book.
