I believe everyone wants health and everyone has their own style of health that includes body, mind and spirit. I have each client create a list of the “old healthstyles” and the “new healthstyles.” Here are J’s old and new..I must say pretty impressive.

I used to overschedule myself all the time or volunteer and say yes yes yes. Now I feel good about saying NO. I know my values and the value card deck really helped.

I used to work 40 hours a week and 10 more at home without pay. Now I mindfully work 32 hours and feel ok if I leave work early or work at home.

I was frustrated with stuff at work and would take it out at home and was more negative. Now I am more connected to my husband now than the last 13 years. I have a stronger marriage and we are even reading together. I know myself and my needs and my values. I was surprised at how much support and encouragement I get now.

Chere’s note: J came to me overwhelmed with life and pleasing everyone but herself. Together we discovered her personal needs and values which led to her stronger boundaries and she really created a life she loved with balance and satisfaction at both work and home. And actually through Law of Attraction she created more than she ever dreamed of.

"Chere, Being quite productive these days. Got my 2 hours of work in each day last week on vacation which felt great. A draft of my website is supposed to be up soon, so that will help me to move forward. I am staying focused and feeling productive as well as having fun with my family. We went to Lake Harriet concert again on Saturday, had pizza in the park with family tonight, and had my first real tennis match this a.m.!. Thanks!” L

Chere’s note: Thanks L for the best summer update. I have a goal to kayak ten lakes this summer and I take off every day Monday through Friday 9 am to 11 am to go to aqua aerobics. The more time I take off and practice self-care and hang out with friends the more energy I have and the more business I attract and the more I love my life. Maybe this summer is the time to start to indulge in self care and you will see more abundance in your life too.

Ever feel like your life is falling apart? Since October I have been struggling to find a solution for the cloudy vision in my right eye. It reminds me of a dirty contact that has a protein build up…the problem is that I can’t take my eye out and clean it up. I have tried Eastern and Western medicine and have not found the solution YET. In June I had a new sidewalk put in and I feel the workmanship did not meet my quality standards. Some days I walk on the sidewalk and it triggers a bad mood. I realized I was having stinking thinking. Then, I remember to tell myself, “Chere you are your thoughts.”

When you are experiencing “stinkin thinking” push the reset button.

James Allen in the book “As a Man Thinketh” says, “You are today where your thoughts brought you.” Your thoughts shape your life. And your thoughts start with your self-talk or your words. So if you focus on your words you can change your life.

Pretend you have a dictionary full of words. A frustrating event happens and you pick a word - horrible. When you string a few words together those are thoughts. My boss is horrible. I will never please him. Your thoughts create a mood or feeling (in the Law of Attraction world this is called a vibe, short for the word vibration). I feel frustrated and non-important at work. Your mood or feelings creates results. What I say at work is never important; I don’t share anymore at meetings.

Living with abundance you don’t care if the glass is half empty or half full you are just grateful you have a glass.

Shakespeare says, “Nothing good, nothing bad…it is our thinking that makes it so.” Your life today is the sum of your thoughts from yesterday. If you have been thinking abundance you’re probably loving your life and getting more abundance. If you feel like your life is hard, examine your thoughts. Your life is easy, but maybe your thoughts make it hard. There are at least a quarter of a million English words in the dictionary and you get to pick which word to use.

Remember, what you focus on gets bigger and bolder. Focus on abundance you get more. When you are experiencing “stinking thinking” push the reset button.

This simple recipe from the 5 Ingredients for Healthy Living Cookbook is bursting with the flavor combination of the sweet mango, the savory cumin, and kick of the red onion. I often use this recipe as a salsa and have been using my prolific zucchini as the dippers.

1 mango, peeled, pit removed and diced
1 c. cooked or canned black beans, drained and rinsed
1/2 small red onion, diced
1 Tbsp. lime juice
1/4 tsp. cumin
1/8 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper

Combine all ingredients in a small bowl, stirring to blend. Adjust seasonings to your taste. Store in refrigerator. Serve with Chili Rubbed Steak.(rub is in 5 Ingredients for Healthy Living Cookbook) Makes about two cups.

Nutrition: Calories 12; Protein 0.5 gm; Fat 0 gm; Carbohydrate 2.5 gm; Sodium 24 mg

Hannah loves to experiment in the kitchen. She doesn’t always like the new dishes she creates. Remember it takes someone 9 times to try a food before they love it.

Where is Chere savoring life?

Savoring is a quality that happy people naturally have in abundance.

Savoring = to mindfully engage in thoughts or behaviors that heighten the effect of positive events on positive feelings. There are 3 temporal forms of Savoring: (1) Anticipatory (2) In the Moment and (3) Reminiscent. We can savor a positive event before it happens by getting excited in preparation for it, we can savor the positive event as it event as it occurs and we can savor a positive event by remembering it. What are you savoring today?

Danielle and Brett are both living in Chicago. Nothing tastes as sweet as family time. We enjoyed a Brewer’s game and tailgate party with Gary’s side of the family.

Happiness is something you get to decide. I decided to kayak 10 lakes this summer. We are already at six. If you have a sweet lake let me know I will come by.
