Holiday Joy Juice - The Two Most Energizing Words
Where is Chere Speaking?

  1. Make a list of your top accomplishments in 2009 for your self, work, family, home, and spirituality or personal growth. If you have trouble, ask your family and friends. Post the list on your bathroom mirror to create confident energized abundance for 2010.

  2. Clean up tolerations – the things that are bugging you and have been on your to do list all year. Ask yourself: Do I need to do them, dump them or delegate them? Don’t start 2010 with your energy drains in your brain box full. You need positive emotional energy space to create the year you dream about.

  3. Forgive and forget. Call or write to people you may have offended. 100% guarantee you will feel better immediately and you will have energy to create the year you dream about.

  4. Make a list of the top 3 people that made the most difference in your life in 2009. Let them know you appreciate them.

  5. Set your oven timer for 15 minutes. Sit quietly in your dark living room, watching your Christmas lights sparkle and reflect on your gratitudes. Start with “I am thankful for…” Don’t think about January until December 26. Enjoy the blessings of the season.

What three things am I thankful for today?

Since 1999 I have had a hard time describing what transpires during a coaching session. Coaching is an experiential process as well as an intellectual one. Talking about coaching isn't the same thing as being coached. Click here or call me at 952.937.5697 to reserve your complimentary, no obligation, 30-minute Coaching Session. If you are ready to take action towards obtaining the life you really want this is your first step.

Experience coaching first hand and create an action plan that will help you move forward with your goals and dreams. I guarantee one tip, tool, question or strategy that will give you more energy, balance, focus, happiness or health.

My letter to my mom sang with many of my Taste Life Subscribers,

“Chere: I just finished reading your latest issue with tears in my eyes and heart for you in the remembrances of your mother and hopes for her in her aging years. I, too, moved away from my Mother but did not stay in touch with her as much as you have done with your Mother. My Father died 45 years ago and my Mother 11 years ago at age 94.

I will put all your positive thoughts together as I continue my relationship with my daughter, Lane, who has been away from me over 25 years I’ve been sending you my Nancy’s Newsletter so I think you know all the events in my “Letter From My Heart” and do know how grateful I am even with two of my four kids having muscular sclerosis. My four year old Sal just knocked on my door to tell me that we have pumpkin muffins that his Daddy has made for breakfast, so I shall end here with one final piece of news. I think of you every day as I am currently on my Day #161 without ice cream.”

“Happy Thanksgiving, Chere! I clicked onto my Inbox, with the decision to only glance over what goodies were in there for me, to tease me before doing my tummy-strengthening yoga pose. Then I saw your email and all my self discipline went away. I devoured your newsletter, and while eating morsel after morsel, I decided, licking my lips, that it was the best newsletter of yours that I've ever read. It motivated me, brought me to tears, and above all had the Eau de Chere in it. A calorie free treat!

The quote you included from Oprah really spoke to me today, because lately I feel I could be graduating pretty soon, if I try hard enough, from the God Life Is Lonely department. Your letter to your mother was priceless.

I LOVE YOU! Know that I rarely use that phrase unless it's a family member (I even freaked out when a 65 year old building mate told me that, and yet I know he's not in love with me and he has a wonderful wife). I sometimes say it to my friends but in the Midwest things are not as emotive as they are in Hungary.

THANK you for being such a fine example of life coaching....as they say, the finest flattery to someone is to copy them....that's how I BECAME a life coach.”

“Mon Chere —Your letter to your mother has brought tears to my eyes. My mother was diagnosed with Leukemia in July, and died on October 2. Yesterday was the first Thanksgiving in 55 years that she has not been with me.

It is so wonderful that you can freely and openly share your love with your Mom. My family was always the type where, we knew that there was love there, but it wasn't openly shared. (The old stoic German thing.) Not until the last months of my Mom's life where there were so many tearful hugs and the words "I love you" spoken more times than in the prior 55 years together.

I'm working through the grief as best I can. I just adopted a cat last weekend — now I have 4 cats! I'm sure I won't put out my Christmas decorations this year. Almost every decoration or tree ornament has history of my Mom attached to it. So the Holiday season will be a hard one this year. Thanks for sharing your touching letter. It made me cry, but it also made me smile too.”

“I loved the letter you wrote to your mom! Made me cry, I am an orphan and that’s not a fun thing, ever! I take it your mom is sick and shrinking before your eyes. I watched as my mom disappeared as well and it is heart wrenching to watch and it makes you feel so powerless. We hate that powerless feeling, don’t we!? Give your mom a hug from me! I’m hugging her in my heart.”

HAPPY DAY..CHERYL ANN FROM YOUR MOM (this email took my breath away)

Note: Cheryl Ann is Chere's full name.

“Dear Cheryl Ann, My life and our life as Mother and 1st daughter is coming to a close. I have failed myself in these last years and couldn’t become in my older years what I started to be in my younger years. Seems they all caught up with me and then I was trapped, too weak to pull out of it. Never forget that I love you and wanted to make a cake for you whether it was Chocolate or Lemon or another kind. And the notes... ???? You know I still write them in my mind even though I cannot hide them. You know the best parts of me and I know the worst parts of me. I seem to be lost in a trap of my own and life’s making and cannot get free to carry on the good things I wanted so much to do forever. Being a mom is an ongoing love affair, so never forget how I see you in my heart. And in that heart movie you are my baby, my toddler, my teen and my smart, caring, working, cooking, speaking, coaching daughter. You are a good mother and wife and I can see all of the goodness. Although I am locked in thoughts you cannot read... I still marvel at your goodness. Forgive me Cheryl Ann for I am not what you dreamed of for this time in your life. So this note, via your friend Janie, was inspired and she understands. My love and notes through God and those who are near you will always be delivered so do not weep, do not wonder I remember it all, Love Mom”

Adapted from the original Gypsy Soup recipe from the Moosewood Cookbook by Mollie Katzen.

My mom taught us food is love! My favorite gift is this soup recipe with the ingredients. People need to eat. People don’t want more stuff. You are giving the gift of health and energy and encouraging people to eat foods they typically would not buy or eat like garbanzo beans* or turmeric.**

This soup is vibrant health in a hurry! I usually dump everything in the pot at once. You may sauté the onions, celery, sweet potatoes, garlic and green pepper and then add the rest of the ingredients.

2 tablespoons olive oil, if you want to sauté the veggies first, otherwise I omit
1 large onion, chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup celery, chopped
1 green pepper, diced
2 large sweet potatoes peeled and cubed
1 teaspoon of turmeric, basil and cinnamon
1 can (28 ounces) stewed tomatoes
1 can (16 ounce) (garbanzo beans (chickpeas), drained
A dash of cayenne pepper
4 cups chicken broth or 4 cups water 4 chicken bouillon cubes
1 bay leaf (optional)

Sauté the onion, garlic, celery, green pepper, sweet potatoes in olive oil for 5 minutes. Add seasonings, chicken stock, or 4 cups water and 4 chicken bouillon cubes. Add remaining ingredients and simmer for 15 to 20 minutes or until the vegetables tender.

I love spice so I probably add 3 tsp of basil and 2 tsp of turmeric. Sometimes I add a can of pumpkin, or cubed winter squash, frozen green beans or peas. Remember gypsies are care free so use ingredients you have in your kitchen.

Gypsy Soup Gift Ingredient List: Large gift bag, recipe, 1 bulb of garlic, 1 bunch of celery, 1 can of stewed tomatoes, 1 can of garbanzo beans, 4 chicken bouillon cubes or 4 cups of chicken broth, 1 bunch of celery, 2 sweet potatoes, 1 green pepper, 1 large onion, spices measured out & labeled in snack bags – 2 teaspoons each of turmeric, basil and cinnamon. If people like bay leafs and red cayenne pepper I find they usually have them in their spice cabinet.
