Where is Chere Speaking?

January is a great time of year to organize your papers.

  1. Monthly Receipt File
Store receipts are filed by month. There are also categories for Gary’s check stubs, water, electric and garbage bills, credit card bills, bank deposit receipts and ATM slips
At the end of the year these are transferred into a shoe box and dated with the year and stored in the attic.

  2. Warranties Brown Accordion Folder
All warranties and direction books and major receipts are filed alphabetically. Occasionally when the folder gets too big we discard old warranties.

  3. Home Record Book
Every room has a page with a record of the date purchased, item and any model numbers or important information. Paint samples, and business cards are stapled to the page for future reference.

  4. Business Expense Record
Date, Description, Vendor, Check Number, Amount, Cash and Credit are recorded. Receipts are numbered and attached to that month file. Email Chere for a copy.

  5. Tax Folder
File folder kept with page for donations to charities. Date, Charity, Check number and amount. Also kept in this file are property taxes, tax forms, mortgage information.

Recycle Your Holiday cards. I save the photos and place them in a holiday photo album. I re-read my cards and letters in May and then send the cards to St. Jude’s Ranch. Either cut off the backs of the cards or leave them intact. Children at St. Jude’s earn money by creating new holiday cards from your old ones.

Mail cards UPS “ground” or “bound printed matter” to St. Jude’s Card Recycling, 100 St. Jude Street, PO Box 60100, Boulder City, NV 89006

What fear do I need to dump so I can create room in my life for abundance?

Since 1999 I have had a hard time describing what transpires during a coaching session. Coaching is an experiential process as well as an intellectual one. Talking about coaching isn't the same thing as being coached. Click here or call me at 952.937.5697 to reserve your complimentary, no obligation, 30-minute Coaching Session. If you are ready to take action towards obtaining the life you really want this is your first step.

Experience coaching first hand and create an action plan that will help you move forward with your goals and dreams. I guarantee one tip, tool, question or strategy that will give you more energy, balance, focus, happiness or health.

“Hi Chere! I wanted to send you a quick thank you for the life coaching you have provided during the course of last year. I remember the first time I spoke to you, I was pretty overwrought by worries and concerns of life. You listened, and understood and told me it was going to be ok. The thought I keep remembering the most is when you had me list off what was important to me and all those things that didn’t have anything to do with $$. That was a real eye opener for me and I keep coming back to that to ground me. I wish you Chere all the best in the world. Take care!”

“Chere, Thank you. Thank you. Thank you for renewing my sense of direction and life purpose to move me forward. I was truly stuck before I called you and now I am on a roll. I am really not sure what what happened but it is working. My hope is to keep my momentum going through 2009 and beyond. Thank you for being my inspiration this year. I look forward to working with you in the future and building the future of my dreams.”

“If I remember correctly, you made mention that life is shorter than you think. I have been embracing that too – I am writing you this note from Switzerland. I bought the kids here to fulfill Craig’s dream of having them see Elm (Home of the Elmers) on Christmas Eve. Four trains and a bus later, we are here. Craig and I were here on our honeymoon in 1991. Being back brought back many memories. It is magical to spend Christmas here.”

Chere’s note: Sue Elmer was my first boss at Waconia Hospital. Her wonderful husband Craig died several years ago, leaving Sue to raise Abby and Art all alone. She knows life is shorter than we think. Yeah to Sue for creating memories for her children. Plus, she was a great boss!

"I keep the telephone of my mind open to peace, harmony, health, love and abundance. Then, whenever doubt, anxiety, or fear try to call me, they keep getting a busy signal — and soon they will forget my number.”
—Edith Armstrong

Brett's Stir Fry

This year, Brett resides in an apartment at the U of Iowa and loves to cook. I believe this is his favorite dish, which takes 30 minutes, tops, from peeling the carrots to eating. The ingredients are low cost and you can always have them on hand. He has added much flavor without the fat — maybe all those years of “dietitian mom talk” have worked. But honestly, Brett loves spice and probably doesn’t even think about fat. The higher temperature of your fry pan requires less fat.

1 skinless, boneless chicken breast, thinly sliced
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 carrots, peeled and thinly sliced
1 small onion, chopped
1 big jalapeno pepper, seeded and chopped
1 bell pepper, chopped
3 to 4 garlic cloves, minced
White pepper, to taste
Red cayenne pepper, to taste
Soy sauce, to taste
Thai peanut sauce

In a large frying pan heat the olive oil. Add chicken and minced garlic, and fry on medium heat 10-15 minutes or until chicken is golden brown. Add carrots, onion and peppers. Cook until vegetables are crisp tender (about 10 more minutes.) Season to taste with the white and red pepper and soy sauce. Drizzle Thai Peanut Sauce over. Drink with two big glasses of milk.
Yield: Makes about 3 cups.

The holidays are over and the life race seems to pick up speed again. January is always a time to celebrate our wedding anniversary on Jan 2nd, go to our annual Chanhassen Dinner Theater production and pick my theme word for the year.

Wedding Anniversary

With all the talk about recession, depression, and doom and gloom of the headlines there was only one theme word I could pick – ABUNDANCE. I have been “noodling” on my theme word since Thanksgiving. My theme was “nailed” when Janet Carpenter sent me the book, “The Art of Abundance” by Candy Paul.

You may not be aware of a secret powerful force called the Law of Attraction which attracts people, situations, relationships and jobs into your life. Everything you do creates a vibration and the universe matches your vibrational bubble. I want to put out positive vibrations and attract abundance this year.

Abundance is a feeling. We choose our feelings. Our feelings create a positive or negative vibration to the universe. When I choose to live an abundant life I can feel rich despite the failing economy, my disappearing retirement fund and fewer national speaking engagements. By being open to the possibility that what you desire WILL happen; you open your heart, hands and head to ALLOWING and ATTRACTING what you want in your life.

You can use deliberate creation to create abundance. Most people have the typical “American operating style” that is the exact opposite of abundance — with a focus on not enough (I don’t have enough time.) or lack (My boss doesn’t support me ever!) or loss. (He/she doesn’t show their love to me.)

A few years ago I worked with a client who was quite upset that she only lost three pounds in three months. I thought this was absolutely fantastic as during this three month period we worked together her mom had a heart attack, she changed jobs and her son went to jail. Most people I know would gain twenty stressful pounds, not lose three pounds. Focus on what is good and you will get more!

Here are five ideas for you that I personally use to attract abundance!

Keep an Abundance Journal
Every day keep your “abundant ears” open to what you are attracting. Keep track of one or two abundances each day.

1/5/09 Dawn Urban helped Brett find a Finance Internship without asking her
1/6/09 Heard the most lucrative way to grow my business
1/7/09 Received “The Art of Abundance” book from Janet
1/8/09 Gary surprised me by getting my watch a new battery without asking him
1/9/09 Theresa from Target sent Danielle an email with job ideas
1/10/09 A Welcome Home Mom sign greeted me on the back door when I had been
been gone for 4 days

1/11/09 My Blackberry works after taking a dive in a swimming pool (Thanks Karan)
1/12/09 Brett surprised me with a stir fry creation for my ezine
1/14/09 Nicki at Chanhassen Floral gave me free red roses to spruce up my flower
1/16/09 Huge, long lines at the grocery store and a lane was opened for me

Play the Abundance Game
Start to see things around you as abundant. I look outside at my bird feeder. There must be 1000 bird seeds in it. I look at my grey office carpet with white specks. In my office alone there must be 5,000 white specks. Spend one minute telling someone the abundance you observe around you. Take turns and let them tell you the abundance they see around them. The Law of Attraction suggests that this creates positive vibrations. Create the vibration you want by acknowledging it.

Create Your Abundance Energy Charger list
Create a list of things that you see, feel or do that make you feel better or feel abundant. ie. The red cardinal that comes to my bird feeder (my special one really does look at me),
Lorie Line Threads of Love CD, the smell of soup cooking, family dinner by candlelight, dinner club, friends that call “cause,” meeting new women on the airplane (“Club 33 ”— Kristen & Kim).

Flip the Switch
The opposite of abundance is lack. I picture my bedroom light switch. When my mind is racing towards lack I picture my bedroom dark and full of loss. I flip the switch to light and abundance. When I feel myself going “down” and giving out negative vibrations, I picture the light switch ON and can feel energized abundance.

Buy one lottery ticket and put it on your fridge.
No I am not a gambler. What you focus on becomes bigger and bolder. When you look at your lottery ticket you remind yourself that if you think you are lucky, you are lucky!

If you want to manifest a life you LOVE, it is up to you to focus on what you want, not on what you don’t want. Live each day like the only thing on your “to do” list is living. Then, and only then, will you see the abundant gifts waiting for you. You just need to stop the “racing,” notice the abundance and allow it into your life. I want for you to have this year 2009 be the best year of your life. It is waiting for you to intentionally live in it. And, I am here to add value and energy to your abundant life. Just let me know how!

Love, Chere
