Where is Chere Speaking?

  1. Know what you want!
  2. More important, how will you know when you get what you want?
  3. Be yourself even when others around you don’t know who that is.
  4. Say “NO” when you mean no.
  5. Say “YES” when you mean yes.

What do I need to let go of to be the “REAL ME” and live my life on purpose?

Since 1999 I have had a hard time describing what transpires during a coaching session. Coaching is an experiential process as well as an intellectual one. Talking about coaching isn't the same thing as being coached. Click here or call me at 952.937.5697 to reserve your complimentary, no obligation, 30-minute Coaching Session. If you are ready to take action towards obtaining the life you really want this is your first step.

Experience coaching first hand and create an action plan that will help you move forward with your goals and dreams. I guarantee one tip, tool, question or strategy that will give you more energy, balance, focus, happiness or health.

“Chere, I know I’m a little late, but I have never forgotten about you, I met you in a program here at UW Eau Claire back around Dec/Jan and we got to talking about your mom and mine, my mom has a weight problem and I wanted some pointers on how I should approach her. You then told me to update you in a month or so. I’m a procrastinator with too full of a plate!!!...so I’m right on time with this.

Well, my mom went to a Weight Watcher type program through her hospital, she did it with my dad, she’s still in denial that she needs the program and has lots of problems with it because she said it was for my dad. But that’s enough about her…I’m still watching and working with her, I’m not “shoulding” on her! However, I did give her my feelings and that’s all I can do.

As for me:
I have this little saying on my white board in my office that I wrote down the day you were here, it says “Do it, Dump it, or Delegate it!” I look at that note several times a week. I’ve hired another student to help me out (which I hadn’t in almost 2 years), he’s working out and getting things done that I’ve not been able to. I’ve pushed off some of the things in my life that are ‘not as important’ and am focusing more on my family which is “more important” on my list that you had me create.

I wanted you to know that I’m doing good and you’ve had an impact in my life. I’m no ‘angel’, I’m a ‘work in progress’, but I am progressing. I feel great when I get things done and somehow I seem to always find more to do, but I’m getting things done which is important.
Thanks again for the session you did for us and I envy your energy and enthusiasm.”

Karan came over one weekend when both Danielle and Gary were out of town, and I was feeling, lonely and stuck not being able to drive. She served this delightful side dish with Coconut Curry Chicken and caring conversation. I felt loved!

3 beets medium size about 1 pound
3 or 4 carrots, peeled, diced into 1/4 inch pieces
2 leeks or 1 large onion, diced into 1/4 inch pieces
2 to 3 garlic cloves, minced
1 Tbsp. extra virgin olive oil

Beets (do this ahead of time)
Preheat oven to 425F. Remove the stems and leafy greens from the beets. Peel beets and wrap in a large piece of foil. Crimp the edges tightly together to form a package. Bake 1 1/2 hours. When they are tender, a knife will penetrate the beets easily. Dice one beet into 1/4 inch pieces and refrigerate the other two for another meal.

In medium sauté pan, heat olive oil on medium high.
Add leeks, garlic and carrots. Cook until tender. (Karan says - DO not burn the garlic!)
Add beets and cook for a minute or two. Salt and pepper to taste.
Place in bowl and enjoy! ~~ Karan

Serve with warm conversation – where you are interested, NOT interesting!

Every January, I offer a free teleclass titled, “Make This The Best Year of Your Life.” Beth enrolled in this free class and was committed to making it the best year of her life. I received an email that took my breath away.

January 7, 2008,
“Chere - You are my friend and I so enjoy reading your newsletters, especially the December issue — ideas for the new year creating lists of accomplishments, regrets and people who have made a difference.

On that note: I would like to share with you that my dear sweet daughter Kristin passed away on September 7, 2007. It was the result of a motor cycle accident, where the driver was racing and had been drinking. I did not know the boy; and I believe from friends Kristen barely knew him.

Her funeral was a beautiful tribute to her and as I listen to the CD of it, it reminds me I have no regrets in loving her to the fullest and she did lead a full life. As a family we talked about being organ donors. Perhaps someday I can meet with the people whom Kristen gave life to.

Kristin was a great accomplishment for me — a beautiful young woman who I was given the honor of being her mom, a life of no regrets and had an impact on my life as well as many others.”

September 20, 2008,

“Hi Chere,
Well, it has been one year since my sweet Kristin went to heaven. Many things impacted me differently after that as they still do, and of course always will. I think when we have a child we are never again the same. Just as when we lose a child we are never again the same — a mystery to be embraced and a deeper connection with our heavenly father.

I remember reaching out to you and your response was, “What can I do?” And I never seemed to have the answer. But, of course it was so nice to hear and know people cared and were “as lost” as I on what to do??? Now one year later I seem to have the answer - Keep being yourself – keep writing your newsletter. One month you wrote about a friend dying, which touched me and the next letter was about a funeral of Jean Davies
WOW that was weird for me. But within the article you quoted a sentence “Don’t cry because her life is over; smile because her life happened” that I now admit I am using to live every day.

Imagine all the beautiful positive energy of Jean and Kristin proud that we are living life — being ourselves — touching people and making them feel special — just as they did to us and your letters do for me. I like to believe now my life will be defined as successful in that same nature — finding the beauty in the bittersweet moments of life. I miss her everyday and every moment and yet there is peace in the JOY of her life in mine.

Thanks so much — you are always there in the back of my mind — a great positive role model of positive thinking — I just know sometimes I am still waiting to securely take a plunge into LIFE!!!
Love, Beth”

Funny thing…. I did not realize how much I wrote about people dying this past year. But really when I think about my death, it helps me want to live. Live on purpose with purpose. So how do you live? How do you take the plunge into your LIFE? You show up being WHO you are. Pursue what you want, not what others want from you. Smile because you can make your life happen! Your only life is waiting! What are you waiting for?

Thanks for being born! With gratitude and love, Chere
