Let Go of Worry and Make Room for Luck
Where is Chere Speaking?

  1. Believe you are lucky. If you think you are lucky, you are right. If you think you are not lucky, you are right.
  2. Be ready for luck. It is not good unless you are ready for it. Buy a lottery ticket and hang it on the fridge to remind you of your luck.
  3. Know that you deserve luck. And, love the luck that comes your way and be grateful for it.
  4. Keep a luck journal. Record the lucky things that happen to you each day.
  5. Notice when people use the word luck or attribute something wonderful to luck.

Who do I want to be today — worried or lucky?

Since 1999 I have had a hard time describing what transpires during a coaching session. Coaching is an experiential process as well as an intellectual one. Talking about coaching isn't the same thing as being coached. Click here or call me at 952.937.5697 to reserve your complimentary, no obligation, 30-minute Coaching Session. If you are ready to take action towards obtaining the life you really want this is your first step.

Experience coaching first hand and create an action plan that will help you move forward with your goals and dreams. I guarantee one tip, tool, question or strategy that will give you more energy, balance, focus, happiness or health.

“Your kind coaching words and encouragement always give me the kick I need to look at things differently. I really do intend to live my life to the fullest. Don’t you wish we could learn these things as kids? Imagine what would happen to the world!”

“At one of your “Overcoming Overwhelm” sessions about a year and a half ago, we did the “plate” exercise. I had just started dating my neighbor Jed and decided to put “drama” on the plate to throw away – I wasn’t going to play games or go through the drama of wondering if he would call me, blah, blah, blah. If I wanted to talk with him, I would, and if it worked out great – otherwise, I knew that would be okay, too. Anyway, the result was a relationship unlike anything Jed or I had experienced before – and one that has now resulted in him proposing to me! We are going to be married this summer, and we both wanted to thank you for starting us out on the right track! We’ve always been able to just be ourselves and be honest with each other – and there’s still no drama. Thanks so much!”

“Thanks again for all your emails…they have removed my fear to get started with this venture. I checked out Coach U and your website. I am moving forward, I have the knowledge I just need take the first step. You have been a great inspiration…you make it look and sound so easy, though I know it's not. Thanks a bunch and may God bless you for always for the help you give in your uplifting approach.”
— Sandie, ready to start a wellness coaching business

The luck goes on! Laurie and I have been keeping a luck journal. At our last coaching call, she told me she always finds the closest parking space. She did it again! If you believe you are lucky, you are!

“I know worry really works, everything I worry about never happens.”

After doing research for my upcoming webinar on fruits and veggies, I am on the lookout for simple, healthy and quick veggie recipes. This recipe fits the bill and helps you meet the www.mypyramid.gov goal of 2 1/2 cups of veggies a day.

  • 4 cups fresh vegetables like mushrooms, asparagus, red peppers, yellow peppers, onions, green beans; washed, drained and cut into chunks the size you like to eat
  • 1/4 cup Italian salad dressing or olive oil
  • 1 tsp Penzeys BBQ 3000 (my newest Penzy spice I love — Thank you Brenda Vatland) or your favorite spice

Toss the veggies with the salad dressing and spice and marinade in the fridge for one hour before your dinner. Place vegetables in a grill basket, or cut your chunks big enough so they will not fall through the grill grates. Grill over medium heat until crisp tender. Veggies take 5 to 10 minutes. Experiment.

Yield: 2 servings as the only vegetable for your meal

Serve with grilled chicken (yes skinless, which you can also marinade in Italian salad dressing)

Add coleslaw, fresh strawberries and warm conversation.

“One kid done!” Danielle graduated from UW Madison on May 18, 2008, with a degree in biology. Everyone is asking, “What is Danielle doing?” I wish I knew. She is joyfully partaking of her “last Madison summer,” living in a 100-year old house with a bunch of girls, which happens to be 4 houses off Madison’s famous State Street. Talk about a memorable summer fest!!

She doesn’t seem worried about employment. She says, “Mom I’ll get a job! And, the job I will have in the future is probably not even invented yet. Why worry!?” Danielle has always thought of herself as lucky. She never had to look for her first job. MD Care came to her and asked her to work for them after she volunteered her time there. Caitlyn, one of her best friends in high school, got a new car one summer. Caitlyn’s dad called me and asked me if they could give Caitlyn’s old car to Danielle. Give Danielle a car! I couldn’t believe it. The ten year old Ford Taurus came with two spray bottles of white spray paint. Danielle painted the car instead of washing it. Her luck continued when she got accepted into all seven colleges she applied at, including the “reach” school UW Madison. She always has said, “Mom, I am so lucky.” She really, really doesn’t worry.

In my presentations, I like to say, “Worry is the creative use of your imagination.” You can use your positive imagination for positive creativity or you can use your negative imagination for negative creativity and worry, worry, worry!!

When you think about it, you can’t possibly have room in your brain for both worry and luck at the same time. You pick. And if you are going to worry, I say do a BIG worry. Then DUMP the worry. BE DONE. In my coaching practice, I find that worry is often a fear caused by indecision. If you worry all the time ask yourself, “What challenge in my life am I avoiding making a decision about?” Then, after you dump the worry, be ready for luck.

Lucky people expect luck and you get what you expect. Lucky people expect to find money on the ground, parking spaces, and exciting people to talk to that will bring more luck into their future.

Lucky people prepare themselves and keep their eyes open for opportunity, and recognize it when luck comes along.

Luck is when opportunity finds you ready and prepared. Danielle is prepared and ready to marry the opportunity of a job when it pops up.

What you put your attention on shows up more in your life. I pretend every day is Friday the Thirteenth. You can too. If you think you are lucky, you are! I am so lucky you all were born!
With much gratitude, Chere

Where is Cherecoach in the media and speaking?

With the belief of luck I created this Brown Bag Lunch speaking engagement on The Top Three Secrets to Lose Weight for the Hawaii Medical Service Association in Honolulu during a family vacation in January.

“Chere, Your seminar “Top Three Secrets to Lose Weight” that you gave us on January 15th was very well received by all of our members not only for the timeliness of the topic, but also because of the content as well as your enthusiasm and energy. They were impressed with your knowledge of the subject, your enthusiasm and energetic way and positive way you delivered such valid information. Your examples were realistic and practical and could be used immediately. It was a very special hour for all…one we will not forget. Enjoy our beautiful island and have a safe trip back to Minnesota. Thank you, Chere. I hope we will have the opportunity to work together again.
