Live the Life You Were Meant to Live

What makes you YOU? Your brand!

A potential RD coaching client excitedly exclaims “I need a blog, a website and business cards.” I hear a desperate cry for “I want it done yesterday .”  Maybe you are defining yourself or refining yourself.

Many people make the mistake of building their business without taking the time to define themselves and build rich personal relationships with their audience.  They focus on the “outside stuff” instead of the “inside stuff” first.

Does having a brand really make a difference?

The world judges you within three seconds of meeting you, coming to your web site, or watching those first few frames of your video. If you don’t capture their attention within that tiny window of time, you’ve lost your opportunity. The key to branding is to make a consistent impression because you never know who is going to find you and where they will first encounter you.  It is more than your name; it is a reflection of your values, natural gifts, and strengths, and beliefs.

I was asked at a meeting last week, what do you stand for and value? I value my family, my faith, positive energy and helping others.  It is the “inside stuff.” What do you stand for?  Walk over to a mirror. You are not only gazing at your beautiful reflection of your face but you are also seeing your entire being of your existence. You are looking at your family life, your education, your career, your family and friends, your values, gifts and strengths. And, you’ve created your entire life package using your beliefs and the life you were meant to live.

Here are the first five step to ATTRACT the life you meant to live.

 Identify your values.

Values are what give your life meaning and purpose.  They are what matters most to you and what you truly belief in. They are the activities and interests that you are naturally drawn to. Examples of values are freedom, hope, productivity, leadership, mastery, wealth, family, responsibility, faith, fun and support.  Create a list of ten and then get to five. You can only fully live five values ( I have developed a value card deck, if you need help with this).

Identify your natural gifts.

Ask five people you know what your top five gifts are.  Analyze the list and every day intentionally pick a gift and use it.

Identify what energizes you.

Look back over your work history and identify what work energized you and what drained you. Did you get energy from one on one counseling, or giving presentations and being with people? Or did you feel more peaceful working alone and writing articles?

Identify your sweet spot.

What makes you special, unique and different? Ask 15 people (5 that know you really well, 5 moderately well, and 5 not well at all) what you do, who you are and what is different, unique and special about you than other people who do what you do. You will be surprised at their answers and how similar they are. See, you are already the brand without even trying.

Identify disempowering beliefs

This is the most important branding step. You have had clients say, “That diet doesn’t work”

(We know the problem is all diets work). The universe responds by giving more failure to the client’s weight loss attempts. Our clients are not what they eat, rather what they think. “I will never have enough time.” “ I will never make 100K.” ”I will never have clients.” You are what you THINK.

WORDS >>>>> THOUGHTS >>>>> EMOTIONS>>>>> ACTION

Your words control your thoughts. Your thoughts control your emotions. Your emotions inspire action. Where you are in your life is what you have repeatedly thought about. If you have focused on endless possibilities and positive thoughts, you are probably living that kind of life. If you have been living in fear and worry you will be living a life that reflects what you fear. It is pretty simple.

The Law of Attraction Cause and Effect Laws are always working.  If you are experiencing something fabulous or not fabulous there is a reason for it. You can always look back and find the belief that got you there.

Every decision you make…every decision is not about what you do. It is a decision of WHO you are. Once you realize this and understand it you will see life filled with possibilities and abundance. Your decisions are the manifestations of your beliefs. When you dream about what you want, YOU become who you are.

It is critical that you create empowering beliefs based on your values and let go of negative thoughts that don’t belong in the life you want to create. Happiness is an attitude. You can either make yourself happy and confident or miserable and living in doubt that you never have the business you want. The amount of work is the same

Remember, when you love your life it loves you back. You have one life to live, just imagine if it was one you truly loved. Better get busy!

  1. When I read this I hear Chere’s words, “Life is easy and we make it hard”. These steps really do make it easy to figure out what we should be doing for our careers . . . why do we fight it?

    1. Lisa..the number one cause of your stress is our beliefs
so we can believe life is easy or we can believe life is hard
nothing good…nothing bad….it is our beliefs that make it so
Why did one client say, “Diabetes was the best thing to ever happen to me..it woke me up? And, another client said, “Diabetes was like a bomb in my life!”
