The Key to Work and Work Outs
The key to a successful work life is doing what you love and that is the same key to succeeding at exercise.

Think active fun.
Not sure what you love? Remember how you just couldn’t wait for summer to be outside. You didn’t realize you were exercising. What did you enjoy doing as a child – bike rides, swimming, dancing, tennis, or walking the woods? What you loved is still there; you just have been too busy to notice!

Set reasonable expectations.
The formula for failure = high expectations! Sneak up on exercise. You can jump on a trampoline 5 minutes a day and jump a little more the next day. Walk around the grocery store before you shop. My daughter brought home a jump rope this week – give that a whirl! What worked for Lisa, my client, was calculating a percent of the days of the year she wanted to exercise.

Great posting, Chere. Lisa here . . . I’m hovering at at 73 % for 2011 even after changing jobs . . . yea. Still loving yoga, Zumba and walking. The other day I tried a weighted hula hoop – that was a workout. Three of us signed up to walk another 1/2 marathon in October. Slow and steady finishes the “race”.
weighted hula hoop…sounds like fun
exercise energizes oh yeah….73% is fabulous with change
Life is a race Lisa hey but boy we enjoy the journey of the race
