What should I charge for my services?
Who wouldn’t love more money! I would! But some of the most unhappy people I know have the fattest wallets. Unless your beliefs and values align with your actions you will be miserable. So before you start to think about what to charge for your services take some time and ask yourself these questions.
And, remember successful people are not happy. But, happy people are successful. YOU get to define success.
What is my vision for my career? Paint a picture. Write it up.
What kind of person do you want to be? What do I want to have, think, feel and look at.
Clarify until it is succinct. Clarify until you can feel it.
Then ask yourself: What is the MOST important part of this vision?
Key Questions:
What are my values? How do these align with my vision?
What are my strengths?
Who/ what do I need for support?
Then you can look at strategies, 3 month goals, obstacles..but get crystal clear on your vision first.

My husband and I have a a vision (that is a “work in progress”) of creating an organic farm and nature sanctuary that will be a place to nurture our community and our family (including future grandchildren). I also envision our farm as a place to nurture our dietetic profession with my efforts helping to get us as a group of “food and nutrition experts” to step back from a starting point of “we are what we eat” to “we are what we grow”. I hope that eventually all RDs will understand that all food and beverage recommendations that come out of our mouth directly influence the agriculture and food systems in this country, which is clearly currently about as broken as can be. I hope we all will have the vision and passionately advocate for good food for all. We can all “Be the change that you want to see in the world.” Mohandas Gandhi
