Realizing my purpose in life actually began at a mothers group during our children’s play date. My circle of friends and I were having a conversation about our dreams, goals and purpose. After several questions and answers, my friends helped me to recognize my purpose in life. I knew that I loved fitness, nutrition and well-being; I was naturally drawn to topics pertaining to health, wellness and spirituality. It was during this conversation that I became aware that my passion lies in nurturing the mind, body and soul. I needed to then take the steps necessary to make my dream a reality.

In 2006, I became a Certified Personal Trainer and Certified Aerobics Instructor. I contracted out to several fitness centers and within a year opened my own Personal Training Business. I went on to obtain certifications in kid’s fitness and Silver Sneakers, a fitness program for older adults. Through attending conferences and workshops to maintain my continuing credits, my interest in health and wellness continued to grow and I made the decision to go back to college. In 2010, I enrolled in college to pursue my degree.

Early in 2011, my husband of 16 years suddenly passed away. In spite of this tragic loss, I continued to pursue my education with the assurance that my husband would have wanted me to accomplish my dreams. I had the awesome opportunity of meeting Mrs. Chere Bork in 2012 at a Food and Nutrition Conference. I was so inspired by her biography that I knew I had to connect with her on a professional level. When I walked into our meeting I could immediately feel her warmth, caring, and supportive nature. She continues to be a great inspiration to me.

I graduated from college in January of 2014 with a degree in Dietetic Technology. I have had several opportunities to volunteer my time at the local food bank and speak at health fairs on topics pertaining to health and wellness. My desire is to encourage others to play an active role concerning all aspects of their well-being. The keys to vibrant health and happiness is creating a lifestyle that nurtures the person as a whole physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. When one area is lacking, it affects the others in one way or another. To live a healthy lifestyle, it is vital that we find balance amongst these areas. My dream and purpose in life is to be a motivational speaker and health coach providing support and educating others in health and wellness; empowering them to create their own vibrant healthy lifestyle. I wish to accomplish this through speaking engagements, interaction with communities and working directly with others one and one and in group settings. It is my desire to establish a Health and Wellness Center that will provide encouragement, support and education in order to meet the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual needs of individuals.
