A Healthy Idea If You Crave Ice Cream and Feel Guilty When You Eat It

Do you crave ice cream but feel guilty when you eat it? Are you falling short of eating enough fruit during the day? What would like be like if you could eat an “ ice cream like dessert”  after every meal you eat and count it towards your fruit?  Have I got an idea for you!

You need your favorite frozen fruit like berries or cherries, a few frozen bananas and a Yonanas machine and you can make a frozen fruit sorbet without any added sugar. Simple as that.

I first learned about the Yonanas machine from Jody Manning. She made a fruit sorbet for our dinner club.

Kids love this too.   Julie, Zoe and Abbey Thoma made the dessert at our party. If you are having a hard time getting your kids to eat fruits using Yonanas will provide you with a healthy fun activity that will make your kids want to eat fruit.
A month later I was at the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Food and Nutrition Expo in Philadelphia I met the Hugh and Ryan the co-creators of the Yonanas.

Yonanas contains half the calories of ice cream with about one cup equaling 200 calories compared to a cup of ice cream with 384 calories.

The machine comes with a list of recipes, from blackberry vanilla bean to pecan pie. There are also recipes for banana-free sorbets made with melons and berries. But if you don’t like bananas, Yonanas probably isn’t for you.

It can save you money too. Ice cream costs about $5.00 per pint while a serving of Yonanas costs as little as $1.00 per pint. Health doesn’t have to be expensive!

If you are looking for a perfect gift for someone who wants to be healthy and loves dessert, check out the Yonanas. I have seen it at Bed, Bath and Beyond for $50.00.

Have you tried the Yonanas? Would love to hear your thoughts.

  1. You can actually make your own with a good blender or food processor – simple puree frozen fruit until smooth. Bananas work especially well and are great flavored with some vanilla extract and cinnamon. Enjoy! -Holly

    1. Holly great idea. I have done that and it works. Have you tried chocolate chips with the bananas?
or what about a frozen banana and peanut butter?
