Individual Wellness Coaching Program
Phase I: The first twelve weeks – learning to lapse without collapse!
It takes six weeks to change behavior but twelve weeks to "feel" the results of this behavior change and make it permanent. That’s because twelve weeks is long enough for you to experience little "oops" or "mistakes" and setbacks, but with Chere cheering at your side, you will learn to prevent them from becoming relapses or collapses. When your new behaviors starts to become automatic, you’ll experience a whole new level of freedom and fitness!
Phase II: The second twelve weeks – bringing it home.
Once you've gotten through the challenge of the first twelve weeks, Phase II takes twelve additional weeks to strengthen and solidify those new daily habits into permanent lifestyle changes. With your new way of thinking and new habits, fitness becomes fun and easy!
Wellness Coaching Process
One 20 to 30-minute complimentary wellness coaching session to give you a taste of wellness coaching and to determine if you are ready for health and if we are a great fit.
Clients provide background information through a comprehensive questionnaire to be used during the first coaching session.
Initial Call: 60 to 90 minute intake telephone assessment and consultation.
to review your health history and develop your Wellness Vision and Three-Month Goals (cost of phone call not included).
You confirm you are ready to make changes in at least one area.
Your personal wellness vision, three month priorities and realistic goals are reviewed
and agreed in detail. You commit to 3 to 5 behavioral goals, or small steps toward the three month behavioral goals for the following week.
Weekly 30-minute telephone coaching sessions:
You receive weekly support that will be the springboard for your weekly and monthly goals. You review the progress from the last week’s goals, learning something new or develop a solution to overcome an obstacle. You agree on a set of goals for the following week.
After a few weeks of wellness coaching sessions, you will begin to notice improvements in how you feel and look, and your motivation to continue efforts to change increases.
Typically in the second and third month, clients hit one or more obstacles. You and your coach work hard to find solutions to overcome each obstacle to reach the goal of establishing new lifestyle behaviors.
By the end of three months, clients typically reach more than 70% of their three month behavior goals and are energized and confident to commit to the next stage.
Web support: You have access to your own comprehensive personal Web site, which is updated during your coaching sessions. This is an optional but helpful tool clients use to record workouts and nutrition logs. Included is a personalized library with nutrition and fitness articles tailored to your wellness challenges.
Wellness Coaching Principles
In order for wellness coaching to be a success, coaches and clients honor the following principles
Coach
• Delivers attentive inquiry and listening (the motto is to “listen until I don’t exist”)
• Encourages realistic expectations and goals
• Is direct and firm with feedback when needed
• Through a coaching inquiry, encourages clients to identify their wellness visions, motivators, obstacles and strategies to overcome obstacles.
• Helps identify creative solutions to get around roadblocks
• Provides advice and instruction for engineering fitness, good nutrition and management of weight, stress, and health into a client’s busy life
• Is punctual and responsive
• Recognizes early whether the chemistry with a client is good or not optimal, and if not optimal, refer client to another coach.
Client
• Ready to take responsibility to make and sustain changes in at least one area of wellness
• Ready to invest at least three months to make changes
• Ready to share personal information that is relevant to wellness
• Ready to become more self-aware
• Open to suggestions and trying new things
• Understands that setbacks are normal on the path of change
• Is punctual and responsive
