  1. Stop doing what you know is hurtful and start doing what is helpful and nourishing.
  2. Stop trying to meet everyone else’s expectations and start setting your own.
  3. Stop comparing yourself to others and start to identify your own unique gifts and strengths.
  4. Stop your self-doubt and start trusting your intuition.
  5. Stop chasing your next big goal and start to appreciate what you have today.

Where is Chere savoring life?

Savoring is a quality that happy people naturally have in abundance.

Savoring = to mindfully engage in thoughts or behaviors that heighten the effect of positive events on positive feelings. There are 3 temporal forms of Savoring: (1) Anticipatory (2) In the Moment and (3) Reminiscent. We can savor a positive event before it happens by getting excited in preparation for it, we can savor the positive event as it occurs and we can savor a positive event by remembering it. What are you savoring today?

I adore any and all food tours and have been wanting to tour Sprecher Brewery, which is Milwaukee’s Original Microbrewery. When people think of Sprecher they think of their root beer. However, Randy Sprecher started by brewing beer and created his famous root beer so the kids would have something to drink on his tours. Michele and I adored the Red Raspberry Soda and of course Daniel and Stephen liked every single flavor they tried.

What could be more fun than these beer pops?
Only in Milwaukee!

I decided about ten years ago to go home for my parent’s birthdays. Mom and Dad have always said they got married because Mom’s birthday is Veterans Day and Dad’s birthday is Flag Day. We always wear red, white and blue for Dad’s birthday and he always wants strawberry shortcake. This year he changed it up from his usual Mexican meal and wanted to go a steakhouse. Love 84 year olds changing it up! What are you changing up today?

I usually miss Zachary’s birthday party on June 21st. This year I was lucky to celebrate with him. Zachary asked for three things for his birthday: chocolate, Mountain Dew and perhaps a credit card for college. He answered quite succinctly when I asked why he loved Mountain Dew. He said, “I tried it. I liked it and now I am obsessed with it.” Just like the rest of America, to his Dietitian Aunt's dismay!

Hannah’s dance recitals have become an annual family event.
She stole the show with her ballet and toe work.
Her aunties could watch her dance for hours!
