DELIBERATE CREATION OF EASE AND GRACE

The house is extra quiet. The same day the earthquake hit Japan the foundation in our home was shaken up a bit too. We were “de-nested” again with Danielle’s move to Chicago.
Since she moved out I have been de-cluttering the “nest.” I find I am craving space more than stuff. Although Gary would love to argue that there are still reams of paper around here. And, I do mean reams.

I have made the decision to deliberately create a life of ease and grace. I do believe life is easy and we make it hard. Our beliefs do create our days. Can you think of a better belief than a life full of ease and grace? I can’t. A while back one of my clients created what we call her “kiddy corner life.” She was let go from a horrendous, life-consuming job (she slept with her laptop) and began to use the law of attraction. With a need to gain back control of her life, she began to workout at a health club a mile or so from her home, which resulted in her participation in her first triathlon. She loved the closeness of the gym and decided she wanted to have her next job close to home to continue to workout with ease. Her new job is “kiddy corner” from her health club. She deliberately and with intention created her new amazing life…

TASTE LIFE BALANCE RECIPE OF THE MONTH

Black Bean Dip

“Chere, I made the black bean dip for "snack day" at work last week. One of my coworkers didn't pay attention to the label I made for it and actually thought it was chocolate...her tastebuds were a bit surprised! It was a fiber-licious snack and a real hit around here! Thanks for being you.”

16 ounce black beans, drained and rinsed
1/2 cup prepared salsa
2 Tbsp. lime juice
2 Tbsp. cilantro, chopped
1/4 tsp ground cumin
1/8 tsp salt
1/8 tsp pepper

Combine all ingredients in food processor and process until smooth. Adjust seasonings to your taste. Use as a dip for corn or rice tortilla chips or raw vegetables.

Makes 1 1/2 cups.
Nutrition per tablespoon: 17 Calories; 1 gm Protein; 0 gm Fat; 3.3 gm Carbohydrate; 75 mg Sodium

Where is Chere savoring life?

Savoring is a quality that happy people naturally have in abundance.

Savoring = to mindfully engage in thoughts or behaviors that heighten the effect of positive events on positive feelings. There are 3 temporal forms of Savoring: (1) Anticipatory (2) In the Moment and (3) Reminiscent. We can savor a positive event before it happens by getting excited in preparation for it, we can savor the positive event as it event as it occurs and we can savor a positive event by remembering it. What are you savoring today?
