Welcome to TASTE LIFE!! Life is easy and we make it hard. The purpose of this ezine is to empower you to take charge of your health, have more work/life balance to create more time for YOU, and to fully taste the life you love.

5 THINGS YOU CAN DO IN JUNE TO TASTE LIFE AND HAVE MORE WORK/LIFE BALANCE

  • Celebrate National Fruit and Vegetable Month and go to the farmers market and buy a new fruit or vegetable! Click here for ways to add color and health to your diet.
  • Say yes to Iced Tea Month and make some sun tea. Studies show that both black and green tea may help prevent or delay tumors in your skin, lung, esophagus, stomach and colon.
  • Measure your waist and, if you are a woman, hope it is smaller than 35 inches, and, if you are a guy, smaller than 40 inches. Higher than 35 and 40 increases your risk for heart disease and diabetes.
  • After you measured our waist no doubt you will want to take a walk to whittle it down!!
  • Find a pond, lake or ocean and, as you gaze at the water for a quieting 15 minutes, reflect on what you are grateful for this summer.

JANET MICHAUD IS TASTING LIFE

I saw you at the Office Professionals' Conference in April in Eau Claire, WI. You are a great speaker. Loved your "date week" vs "married week." Told my husband about it and now I get "love calls." And we don't even specify a date week or married week. Every week is a date week. And he seldom misses a day without making a love call. If he does, I make it. Thank you for a great idea to keep our marriage fun."

Hugz!

p.s. Chere, I should mention that Jim and I will be married 30 years in October. I even got a love calls this past weekend when he was on his spring fishing trip.

CATHERINE UNKELSBAY IS TASTING LIFE

"I was so happy to read about your "gift" to yourself for your 50th birthday. I gave myself the same gift on my 50th and it saved my life. I was diagnosed with colon cancer. I never had any symptoms, and never dreamt that I had anything wrong. Because I was diagnosed so early the only treatment I needed was the removal of the cancerous polyp. What a blessing! I have a wonderful life and three beautiful grandchildren. If hadn't had a colonoscopy when I did things could have been very different for me. So...for all you 50 year olds, "Bottoms Up!"

Remember life is easy and we make it hard!

Spinach leaves
Strawberries, washed and sliced
Blueberries, washed
1 large can mandarin oranges, drained
Sugar snap peas, washed
Roasted Chicken or Turkey slices
Low fat raspberry vinaigrette salad dressing

Toss all ingredients and serve the raspberry salad dressing on the side. Don’t forget to eat this on your deck or patio with a bowl of fresh fruit salad and ice tea. Are you happy yet?

VACATIONS — ARE THEY AN EXPENSE OR INVESTMENT?

5 short days and many energizing moments helped me remember the importance of recharging my battery and as well as energizing my well being. With grand impulse — a flyer came in the mail advertising a trip. I got the mail at 1:00 and by 1:30 Danielle and I had the last two seats on the plane for a trip to Laughlin, Nevada — only two weeks away.

Danielle and I stepped out of our normal daily routine and strengthened our relationship, learned about the Spanish culture in Nevada and met a nurse who was actually cold because it was only 103F instead of the usual 120F.

We had delightful "people finds" including Gaylan from Amery, Wisconsin, and a totally life-loving 80 year old named Lynn from California. Physically we energized with sleep, ate lots of fruit and had total brain "shut off," as our biggest task of the day was trying to decide where to eat dinner. (Laughlin is small!)

I believe vacations are not an expense, but an investment. Each year I take several vacations — one day to two weeks. They give me something to look forward to. They create a "stop" to my life and give me time to reflect, recharge and meet new people and learn new things. When I return I do have a lot of work to catch up on and too many emails. But also waiting for me when I return is the law of attraction. I am so happy from the inside out that I attract more abundance — more happy people, more speaking engagements, and more happy moments. I want to live in my life in the moment and have no regrets. I am not living on the edge anymore.

I wish for you to live in your life and energize your well being and while you are at it — take a vacation. You will be savoring your life. Go for it!
